Cantata of the Seven Sorrows of Mary

This deeply moving cantata traces the Blessed Virgin Mary’s seven sorrows as recorded in Scripture — from Simeon’s prophecy to the burial of Christ. Blending original compositions with two timeless public-domain texts (Coventry Carol and O Come and Mourn), the work unfolds as a continuous meditation on faith, suffering, and maternal love. Scored for narrator, female solo, Choir with Piano accompaniment. It can be performed complete or in sections for Lent, Holy Week, or Marian devotionals. Each movement captures a unique emotional dimension: prophecy, exile, loss, encounter, crucifixion, lament, and repose — culminating in a quiet benediction of peace and surrender. Duration: approximately 35–40 minutes Voicing: Choir, Woman solo Instrumentation: Piano Songs included: "Our Lady of Sorrows", "A Sword Will Pierce", "Coventry Carol", "Our Father's Work To Do", "Oh, What Deep Woes (Pieta, Mater Dolorosa)", "At The Foot of the Cross", "Pieta", "Laid To Rest In Sacred Tomb", "Come To The Tomb", "O Come and Mourn".
