“As He Chooses” is a meditative sacred song inspired by the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard from Matthew 20:1–16. Through gentle, reflective storytelling, the piece explores God’s generosity, mercy, and the difficult human struggle with comparison, fairness, and envy.
Rather than rewarding according to human calculation, the song points toward the mystery of divine grace… a love given freely, beyond merit, beyond scorekeeping, beyond what we believe is “earned.” Written in a plainspoken and emotionally honest style, As He Chooses invites listeners to let go of comparison and rest in the mercy of God.
“Not by our earning do we stand,
nor by the hours we have known…”
Perfect for:
• Communion meditation
• Choirs and soloists
• Stewardship and discipleship themes
• Retreats and prayer services
• Reflections on grace and mercy
• Contemporary liturgical worship
• Sacred concerts and meditative gatherings
