About noon I was trav’lin’ under a vicious sun
A7 D
Sweat ran down my face
D G
Covered by dust and dirt from the trip
A D
It got tough to still follow the trail
E7 D
Vultures were starting to circle
A D
And they were looking my way
D G
Suddenly an overwhelming light shone around me
A7 D
And I was thrown down
D G
There on my hands and knees on the ground
A D
I found I’d become totally blind
E7 D
A Voice told me I was lost
A D
And I knew it was the truth
D G
Led by the hand, I staggered on away from that place
A7 D
To a waiting home
D G
For three whole days I stayed in the dark
A D
Then I finally regained my sight
E7 D
I saw all the ways I’d been wrong
A D
And the Way I’d make them right
