1 )Your church gives us this Lenten time
To cleanse our souls heart and mind
To free us from all that blocks us from
knowing you evermore intimately
2 )By way of fasting and restraint
You lead us to follow you and the saints
Your Spirit leads us to a desert place
With you to confront our weakness with your grace
REFRAIN
O Stpirit help us to know Him more
Who is God and our brother and Lord
To listen, follow and him adore
And become one with him evermore
3 ) Your Church helps us to be purified
that in you we more deeply abide
By her sacraments and divine liturgies
And be evermore praised in your church and bride
4 )You call us to give Ourselves and treasure
This lent with greater measure
To share in what you suffered
And suffer now with all our brothers

5 ) O God, perfect our firm resolve
to fast with body, mind, and heart,
that filled with longing we may seek
and safely reach the eternal Pasch.
6 ) The day of our salvation dawns
resplendent with the light of Christ,
as wounded hearts are freed from sin,
