With the Lord There Is Mercy is a sacred setting based on Psalm 130:1–2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–8. Rising from the depths of human need, the psalm becomes a prayer of repentance, trust, forgiveness, and hope in the abundant mercy of God.
Especially fitting for Lent, this responsorial psalm is used for the Fifth Sunday of Lent in Year A. Its themes of mercy, redemption, forgiveness, and waiting upon the Lord also make it well suited for reconciliation services, funerals, retreats, prayer services, and other reflective moments of worship.
