"Jesus, remember me. Your Mercy is my freedom." Jesus, Remember Me is an original Taizé-style sacred meditation by Stephen DeCesare, inspired by the words of the repentant thief who turned to Jesus during the Crucifixion. As Christ suffered upon the Cross, a condemned man recognized in Him the promise of a kingdom beyond earthly suffering. With nothing to offer but his faith, he asked to be remembered, receiving Christ's extraordinary promise of paradise. Through its contemplative refrain and heartfelt verses, this composition invites us to place our fears, failures, and uncertainties before the Lord, trusting that His mercy reaches beyond our shortcomings and even beyond death itself. From the darkness of Good Friday to the hope of eternal life, Jesus, Remember Me offers a moving meditation on repentance, forgiveness, redemption, and the peace found in Christ's everlasting love. Especially suited for Good Friday, Holy Week, Lenten prayer, Stations of the Cross, funerals, memorial services, and quiet moments of Christian reflection.
