I have used GIA and OCP song selection resources for many years. I am familiar with GIA Gather series, RitualSong and Grail Psalms by Michel Guimont. I have also been using OCP's Heritage Missal and Respond and Acclaim.
One obvious starting point is to use the indices that are contained in the hymnal used by a given church. There is usually a seasonal index as well as an index by topic.
