Psalms 6 & 31

MP3 Music Playlist:
ANTIPHON
I take no delight in the sinner’s death
But delight in his coversion

or discipline me in your wrath.
  Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.

Love 101

Hip Hop lyrics by Alex were made into a Hip Hop song and a Folk-Country song. See how we did it! Richard has recorded two audio demos. See the Comments section for the progression of lyrics and the two different song approaches.

Love 101
Original Hip Hop lyrics by Alex:

1st Verse:
The cold weather followed me around town
But I never sold my soul even though I was mostly down...
Then I got to know the lord
That's when I knew it was time to put down my sword
That frown turned upside down and I started to adore...

Thy Will Be Done

MP3 Music Playlist:

Sometimes I fall to my knees and pray, come Jesus come
Let today be the day, some - times I feel like I'm gonna break
But I hold on to you and you won't  let  me go
So many poor and broken souls
Bring them to me – I'll make them whole

REFRAIN
Come Jesus come, we've been waiting so long
For the day You return to heal ev'ry hurt and right ev'ry wrong

Blandine

MP3 Music Playlist:
St. Blandine (162-177) was a fifteen-year-old slave who was arrested by Roman authorities for following Christ. When she refused to give up her faith, she was sentenced to death in an arena. When lions refused to attack her, the soldiers inflicted burns on her then allowed her to be trampled to death by bulls. Blandine’s place of martyrdom, the Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, still stands in Lyon, France – the spot where she died is marked by a simple pillar. Her feast day is June 2.

MP3 Music Playlist:
Responsorial Psalm for All Soul's Day 2025 The Lord is my light and my salvation

Behold Our King

MP3 Music Playlist:

1 )Who has carried the weight of all our sins

Who has died and rose to life again

He who is both God and Man

Who crushed all  the devil’s plans

All Soul's Day song: I Thank My God

MP3 Music Playlist:
This song by the Australian Fr Frank Andersen, MSC, I reckon, makes a great recessional or sending forth hymn because it shows connection and care in the name of faith between two Christians.

I think it also makes a thoughtful prayerful anthem for All Soul's Day because it conveys a caring link between the speaker in the lyrics and another person in faith, who could mean someone alive or dead.

The lyrics are taken from the first part of Philemon, chapter 1, verses 3-11 to be exact, and the melody is rather joyful and sprightly.

I hope you like my cover.

Maybe Today

MP3 Music Playlist:
1) On this the first of all the days,
when you  finished  creating the world,
the day dear Lord you conquered death
and rose again to set us free,

2) Everyday you grace fill us
With your word and body and blood
Everyday you transform us
By your Spirit's fire of love

REFRAIN

A) O Jesus raise our souls to you;
that we fully share your life,

The Dawn of Salvation

O Blessed Mother: recently composed

This new Marian hymn asks for comfort and healing from the Lord through the intercession of the Blessed Mother. It's great for any Marian feast, bringing into focus, Mary's role in our lives, especially on her role as an intercessor to Jesus and for our healing.

Because of You it’s there to start
The unseen order in its place
The elements all aligning
And running with Your energy

Because of You, there’s light and dark
There’s sound and silence, air and space
The water that sustains us all
And the land that rises from it

Only You (x4)
Make it real

Because of You there’s hope for more
The Truth just behind the curtain
From where You shape each piece of it
Help us to see it right again

Bless Those Who Lament

MP3 Music Playlist:
ALL holy, everlasting light,
Our hope in our exile  night
though frail, we now confess your name
and beg you, hear our humble prayer.

O Spirit renew and reform us
Teach us how in you to pray

The Destruction of the Indies, Etc.

MP3 Music Playlist:
Bartolomé de las Casas (1484-1566) was a Spanish Dominican friar who, shocked by human rights violations he saw in Central and South America, spent most of his life in an unpopular fight for better conditions for indigenous and enslaved people in the New World. One of his major works, A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies, helped lead to reform in how these people were treated. His life still provides an example of Catholic social teaching in action, and shows the need for us to stand up today for defenseless victims at all stages of life.
