Bless Those Who Lament

MP3 Music Playlist:
ALL holy, everlasting light,
Our hope in our exile  night
though frail, we now confess your name
and beg you, hear our humble prayer.

O Spirit renew and reform us
Teach us how in you to pray

The Destruction of the Indies, Etc.

MP3 Music Playlist:
Bartolomé de las Casas (1484-1566) was a Spanish Dominican friar who, shocked by human rights violations he saw in Central and South America, spent most of his life in an unpopular fight for better conditions for indigenous and enslaved people in the New World. One of his major works, A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies, helped lead to reform in how these people were treated. His life still provides an example of Catholic social teaching in action, and shows the need for us to stand up today for defenseless victims at all stages of life.

Small Space, No Face - Pro-Life song - lyrics update VERSION 2

---------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATED... 2025-10-15 00:58

Changed Hug You, Love you...etc
to
With you, Love you, Your joy I'll be.

Also, I toned down the singing a little on the last line.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Here I present a lyrics update to the pro-life song, "Small Space, No Face".

Small space, no face, with you Im here,
Take form, so warm, Soon I will hear
Grow feet, heart beat, I’m just like you,
My face, In place, I love you too.

My wall, so small, Inside I hide
Touch you, press you, Feel me inside,

Blest Are You Lord - an offertory hymn

I have always liked this song, but I did not realise that it was composed by a priest in India.

Rev Father Aniceto Nazareth from the archidioce of Mumbai composed this song as part of his repertoire in saying masses at his local diocese.

Fr Nazareth did  not have a formal training in music. His colleagues attested that his talents in composition emanated from his strong interest in music and the desire to use highly suitable and affective tunes at different parts of the Eucharist.

He died in 2021.

This is my rendition of Fr Nazareth's beautiful hymn.

A Baby's Cry

MP3 Music Playlist:

1) Deep in the subway night
We heard a baby’s  cry
With bombs blasting loud above
We heard a mothers lullaby
Sweet and full of love
Grace falling on all of us

2) We all joined her love song
And through her love we became strong
By a baby’s loud cry
And a mom’s sweet lullaby

Jesus Living in Mary - A Marian Hymn

Jesus Living in Mary is a classic Marian hymn that is popularly used during prayers for the Holy Rosary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Peace, Notre Dame, Immaculate Conception, Guadalupe and Medjugorhe.

I like the reverent yet lively tone of this hymn. Not too long, not too short. It is the right length to feel a little break when saying long prayers.

The lyrics are simple and easily understood. This song can work as a children's hymn yet will make a great choice as a congregation hymn for Marian liturgies. Most of all, it is easy to play on guitar as the chord progression is predictable.

The chord sheet is attached here, using A on capo 3.

Daily Daily Sing to Mary - an old favorite Marian song

'Daily, daily sing to Mary, sing my soul her praises due' was first writen by the French monk St Bernard Cluny in the 12th century. It was later adopted into English and included in the Christian hymbook Paderborn Gesangbuch in 1765.
