The recessional hymn is important because it reiterates the mission of Christ that we are all invited to participate. By enlivening this thought at the ending of the Mass through our song, we connect ourselves to the meaningful and purposeful acts of evangelizing. St. Margaret Clitherow (1556-1586) was an English layperson and recusant – one who refused to give up the Catholic faith during the Reformation. She was martyred by government officials who placed a sharpened stone at the base of her spine before gradually adding crushing weight to a door placed on top of her. Her feast day is March 26.

Carey Landry's Hail Mary Gentle woman is good but I found its tempo difficult to play on guitar or organ. Even to sing, I can never get it right. Plus it is quite long.

I just want to sing the Hail Mary short and sweet.
