I have always liked this song, but I did not realise that it was composed by a priest in India.
Rev Father Aniceto Nazareth from the archidioce of Mumbai composed this song as part of his repertoire in saying masses at his local diocese.
Fr Nazareth did not have a formal training in music. His colleagues attested that his talents in composition emanated from his strong interest in music and the desire to use highly suitable and affective tunes at different parts of the Eucharist.
He died in 2021.
This is my rendition of Fr Nazareth's beautiful hymn.
Jesus Living in Mary is a classic Marian hymn that is popularly used during prayers for the Holy Rosary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Peace, Notre Dame, Immaculate Conception, Guadalupe and Medjugorhe.
I like the reverent yet lively tone of this hymn. Not too long, not too short. It is the right length to feel a little break when saying long prayers.
The lyrics are simple and easily understood. This song can work as a children's hymn yet will make a great choice as a congregation hymn for Marian liturgies. Most of all, it is easy to play on guitar as the chord progression is predictable.
The chord sheet is attached here, using A on capo 3.
This 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time Psalms is taken from Psalm 94. Feel free to use this music from Catholic Church Hymns. Simple and easy to sing. The chords are in the video itself. All the best.
'Daily, daily sing to Mary, sing my soul her praises due' was first writen by the French monk St Bernard Cluny in the 12th century. It was later adopted into English and included in the Christian hymbook Paderborn Gesangbuch in 1765.
The recessional hymn is important because it reiterates the mission of Christ that we are all invited to participate. The popular phrase 'Let us go in peace to love and serve the Lord' is a reminder of the sending forth message Jesus had for his desciples during his Ascension into heaven. By enlivening this thought at the ending of the Mass through our song, we connect ourselves to the meaningful and purposeful acts of evangelizing. Like St Carlo Acutis, we are always called to spread the messages of faith, hope and love to our world today, be it physical or digital. Here is a new Catholic song for a good recessional moment.
The music sheet is available from Music Sheet Plus or Amazon.com

Carey Landry's Hail Mary Gentle woman is good but I found its tempo difficult to play on guitar or organ. Even to sing, I can never get it right. Plus it is quite long.
I just want to sing the Hail Mary short and sweet.
So, here's the new one - just composed today. Hope you like it. The chords are posted below the video. Enjoy and please subscribe and share.
Chris Walker's 'Bread for the World Broken' is one of those songs in our Church that is not easy to sing and play guitar with, but has wonderful poetry.
Psalm 137 On the day I called you answered me O God
Psalm 137: On the day I called, you answered me O God. Responsorial Psalm for the 17th Sunday in Ordinay Time Year C. Music by Bro Michael Herry, cover by Erwin Cabucos. Lyrics and chords on the video.
I like Brother Michael Herry's Responsorial Psalm arrangements because they're suited to those who have low voice range, but this one sounds like an exception, with a prolonged and hightened 'live' at the end of the response. All the same, the tune bears reverence, traditional (chant), yet emotive.
Engagée dans la diffusion de la musique catholique, je cherche à partager des chants pour contribuer à l’œuvre d’évangélisation selon mes humbles moyens. Que Dieu veille sur chacun de nous !
I've written a Mass setting, got it approved by the USCCB, several psalm settings, and a couple years of gospel acclamation verses. Looking for a place to publish my works.
As a Catholic songwriter and singer myself, I want to contribute to the community and receive info on how to promote good Catholic songs to a wide audiences.
I am Catholic and a piano teacher. The Catholic Church has the most beautiful treasury of hymns.
I want my students to study hymns. Also, I want to memorize the words of some of the hymns that are in Latin and having access to the sheet music will help with that. Thank you.
I'm a music director at a Cathedral and a composer. I would love to hear other composers, music, ideas, etc. Additionally, I'd like to share my own music.
I am searching for a hymn sung on line in Canada - when I am confined to home and watch mass. I am a piano player for many years and would like to find the musical score.
I have written and recorded about 70 songs over the last two decades. I would like to share them with a larger audience. Thank you and God bless your work Ron St Martin
